New Hope Camp Solomon & VBS - Frequently Asked Questions

What to wear: Clothes suitable for indoor and outdoor activities, socks, and closed-toed shoes
What to pack: * All items must be labeled with your child’s name• Backpack• Refillable water bottle• Light snacks• Bible• Extra clothes in labeled ziplock bag• Writing utensils
Lost & Found: Lost and found bin will be located at the registration table. Items will be kept fora week until the end of the following Monday. All items left in the lost and foundwill be donated to a local organization at the end of the summer.

Teachers & Staff: All teachers and staff must apply and pass a series of interviews, reference checks,and background checks, as well as spend 40+ hours in training prior to serving aspart of our camp and VBS program. A registered nurse staff will also be availableduring camp and VBS hours.
Sick Camper Policy:

Children with any of the following symptoms should not be checked into New Hope Camp Solomon and VBS. In order to return to camp, your campermust be fever free and symptom free, without the use of medication for 24 hours.

  1. Fever of more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit within the last 24 hours
  2. Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  3. Nausea
  4. Vomiting 2 or more times within the last 24 hours
  5. Persistent cough
  6. Heavy mucous discharge from the nose, or any colored secretions
  7. Mouth sore with inability to control saliva
  8. Sore throat
  9. Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
  10. Chickenpox until the 7th day after the rash starts
  11. Impetigo & strep until 24 hours after treatment
  12. Rash
  13. Head lice until morning after treatment
  14. Any illness that prevents the child from normal functioning or requires thatcaregiver gives exclusive care.
Medication: In order for medication to be given to a camper, a Medication Permission Slip must be filled out and signed by a doctor. Campers are not allowed carry medication while at camp. All medication must be delivered to the camp nursein the original packaging or prescription bottle. All medication will beself-administered under the supervision of our camp nurse.
Presentation Night: Our camp parents and families are invited to our Camp and VBS Presentation Night.2020 Camp Solomon and VBS Presentation Night will be held on Friday August 7, 2020at 8pm
